“Is your life good?” Yes. - “Is this how you want to continue living?” No.

At 39, I left a successful corporate career.

I had worked internationally, managed businesses across several countries and had a promising future in the company.

There was much about my life to value, but I wanted greater freedom and more control over my time.

Had you asked me, “Is your life good?” I would certainly have said yes.

Had you asked, “Is this how you want to continue living?” my answer would have been no.

That difference changed my life.

We often treat dissatisfaction as a verdict on everything.

**If we want to change our lives, we assume something must be seriously wrong. If much of life is good, we tell ourselves we should be grateful and leave it alone.**

But life is not one thing.

We may be content with our relationships but not our work.
Satisfied with our income but not with the time it costs us.
Grateful for our security but increasingly unwilling to sacrifice our freedom for it.

**I did not reject my entire life.**

I recognised that where I stood between security and freedom no longer matched the position I wanted.

Leaving corporate life did not solve everything. It created different benefits, costs and uncertainties.

But they were trade-offs I was willing to accept.

That is the purpose of the WTFT Life Map: to separate life into the dimensions that matter, see where we currently stand and compare it with where we actually want to be.

Not to decide whether our whole life is good or bad.

**To identify precisely where it no longer fits.**

## The Perspective Shift

> ***“Is my life good?” is too broad to guide change. Ask instead: “Where does the way I live no longer match the way I want to live?”***
